Sheyna Gee - "I am doin' alright, I let a little bit of whiskey run away with my mind" Sheyna Gee sings in her single "Alright." Gee has always been true to her audience and her music singing exactly what's on her mind. Sheyna picked up the guitar at age five, wrote her first song at six and since she stepped out on stage, she knew that's where she belonged. At the age of 12, the young guitar player earned a sponsorship with DaisyRock Girl Guitars and became their very first spokes model. Gee also appeared on the cover of four books which have sold hundreds of thousands of copies in 27 countries [Girl's Guitar Method 1-3 and Girl's Bass Method] under Alfred Publishing encouraging young women to play music. She has preformed her original music all over the country from The Whiskey a Go Go in Hollywood, to the Zigfield Theater in New York to Tootsie's in Nashville and everywhere in between. She has also opened for major acts such as Stevie Wonder, Sir Elton John and The Donnas. At seventeen Gee was chosen by the National Foundation for Advancement of Arts [NFAA] as a finalist in vocal performance and won second place out of 7000 entrees. She was the first rock singer to win the competition getting rock recognized as an art form by the foundation. Sheyna spent the last year writing and recording her new album "Welcome to California," taking her rock n roll roots mixing in some raw country lyrics and creating a whole new sound. In 2012 Sheyna won "Best Singer/Songwriter" and "Best Country Single" for her song "Truck" in the LA Music Awards. She's out to show the world that Nashville isn't the only place you'll find great country music, this is California Country.
