About our Family
Good Time Design is an all-encompassing hospitality and entertainment group based in San Diego, California and Nashville, Tennessee. Created in 2006 by businessman and hospitality entrepreneur, Ty Hauter, the company has rapidly grown to own and operate numerous unique establishments. Good Time Design’s portfolio includes diverse restaurants, bars and live music venues including current projects Moonshine Flats, Moonshine Beach and The Blind Burro and past projects Wave House, Bootlegger, Bub’s at the Ballpark and Typhoon Saloon. 2016 marked the opening of Good Time Design’s first venues outside of California: Cerveza Jack’s, a south-of-the-border live music eatery, as well as the acquisition of the former The George Jones, a 40,000 square foot entertainment venue, both residing in the heart of downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
As members of both the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music, GTD and Hauter passionately support the songwriter community through individual artist development as well as through their numerous music venues. In 2018, Good Time Design added Martin McDaniel to its Entertainment Development & Marketing portfolio, marking an exciting entrance into the country music scene. Nicknamed, “the Nashville of the West,” all GTD venues’ live music programs are largely composed of Nashville-based up-and-comers with large scale national acts sprinkled through. We are committed to maintaining the authenticity and heart of country music, and matching our production value to the level of talent we bring to our stage every single week.
In addition to providing full service hospitality support (Accounting, Private Events, Marketing, Human Resources), Good Time Design has cultivated numerous brand partnerships with entertainment agencies like Red Light Management and The 10:10 Creative, professional sports teams, radio stations and country music festivals like Stagecoach and Boots In The Park. Other collaborations include “Buena Cerveza” Mexican Lager, Gaucho Premium Rum, Hooch Brothers Vodka, and most recently Holler and Swaller Hard Tea, which will hit the Southern California market later this year.
Like most in the hospitality industry, Good Time Design faced an array of challenges over the past few years, but still managed to grow with one new venue in 2020 (The Presley), two new venues in 2021 (Cerveza Jack’s Gaslamp and Coal Town Pizza & Public House) and three in 2022 (Go Go Amigo, Happy Does and Patrick’s). As far as plans for next year, a mixed-use Property Development project in the Germantown neighborhood of Nashville is in the works as well as a large-scale music venue expansion into Las Vegas, NV. In addition, Good Time Design is excited to partner with CMA & ACM multi-award winning artists, Old Dominion, on a bar/music venue located in the Midtown neighborhood of Nashville, TN. Odie’s is slated to open in 2024.
